Colors of Life !
Hey there again!! I have something exciting and fresh to share with you today. I visit an orphanage most Sundays near my home called ‘Santhwanam. On one such recent visit, a few weeks back, I realized that the kids were not spending their vacations constructively.
I thought of making them do some activities which would be interesting and make them learn something new too. The following Sunday I went all geared with colors and crayons. Made them draw whatever they wanted and then made them do a few minutes of meditation. I admit the first attempt was kinda hard!! And being kids they are not easy to manage, and it was difficult to get them excited as well.
But last Sunday I made them color a picture I carried with me. Gave them tips on how to use colors and they were excited and loved the whole idea! I ended the session with a moral story narrated by my friend Ben. And now am planning on some art and craft session the coming week.
If this is going well I want to start it at other places to. I would require some volunteers and great ideas to!!
Am jus praying and hoping that this is going to go well and I can start this at other orphanages too.
Post your comments and ideas, please! Lets make a small difference in the lives of these less fotunates.

Cover, lectures and unwinding with the unprivelged
Well…am back after a long gap. So lemme fill u up with details. I have graced the covers of two magazines so far in May-Stree and Life and Style. Its always exciting to see myself on the cover of a mag with interviews.
I also had the chance to address the YWCA members at the inauguration of a function. That was quite a different experience because the members were women much elder to me. And I decided to talk on a very subtle topic...the beautiful relationship between a mother and daughter. Since it is something that is very close to my heart I thoroughly enjoyed the feedbacks and reactions I received.

Last week I actively took part in a theatre camp organized by us at MAD, at Don Bosco. I never had so much of fun in recent times. A theatre group called ‘Lokdharani’ trained the kids for four days and the activities included meditation sessions, voice modulation, dramas etc. And I witnessed kids enjoying every bit of it. They got to mentally unwind themselves to, it was an outlet for them to express themselves. The camp culminated with a campfire. We and the kids ended up having an amazing time.
During those sessions, even I got an opportunity to bond with the kids, albeit it took huge amount of patience and persistence in controlling them!! But I loved every moment and I will treasure the experience forever. How truly joys in life come from small things!

New Year and all things bright and auspicious!
Seasons Greetings and Happy Vishu to all!!
I had the most exciting Vishu experience ever! I was at my friends place in Vaikom. It was a great opportunity to witness the most beautiful traditions and the celebrations that surrounds this great Kerala festival. One of the functions held a night before Vishu was called Garuda Thookam. It is believed that the Devi kills Asura (the bad1!!) and the garundan (eagle) dances to pacify her. He dances throughout the night and it culminates in the temple.
Had awesome sadya too (yum!). The next day was Vishu. I was woken up and shown the Vishukani. An enthralling sight of Lord Krishna and other auspicious surroundings to wake up too. I went to the temple too. Prayed to the Devi and thanked her for all her blessings in my life.

What actually made this Vishu extra special was the way I was welcomed and considered as a special person by the people there. It was fun and amusing to see people’s reaction and moved by their hospitality.
I can never give back the love showered upon me by people I meet. It humbles me at times. I hope the activities I do will inspire and is helping someone to realize their potential too.
Once again happy Vishu to all.. Have a great new year!!

On the national runways!!
And at the end of the day I felt extremely happy and blessed to be a part of a great show. Wishing and praying tat the next time around I would b more prepared and geared up to do this all over again.
In the meanwhile I have also been doing a whole lot og shoots and interviews. I get all curious questions bout the fashion week. It’s been fun straightening the misunderstandings And getting the feedback of the perception of the show in Kerala.
Meanwhile its been a balancing act with my studies and these busy schedules, but now I know what multitasking is all about Each day, each interview, I have been learning a lot bout myself and people around me…waiting to see what tomorrow brings..
And I am sure it will be many more shining mornings
